The past decade has seen an increase in the number of filling stations in Zambia, growing from 249 retail sites in 2012 to 613 operational sites as of 20th November 2024. Lusaka province accounted for the highest number of filling stations at 42.4 percent followed by the Copperbelt province at 20.9 percent. This was followed by Central Province at 9.6 percent and Southern province at 7.8 percent. Meanwhile, Western had the lowest at 1.8 percent.
