The Energy Regulation Board (ERB) is a statutory body responsible for regulating the energy sector and derives its mandate from the Energy Regulation Act No.12 of 2019.
The Zambia Bureau of Standards (ZABS) is a statutory body established under an Act of Parliament, the Standards Act of 2017 for the development and promulgation of national standards for Zambia.
The ERB in consultation with ZABS and other stakeholders has developed the following Draft Zambian Standards:
- DZS 702: Automotive Biodiesel (B100) – Specification;
- DZS 706: Specification for Anhydrous Denatured Fuel Ethanol for Blending with Gasoline for use as Automotive Spark-Ignition Engine Fuel;
- DZS 867: Biodiesel Fuel Blends for Automotive Compression Ignition Engines – Specification;
- DZS 868: Anhydrous Ethanol Fuel Blends Quality Standard for Automotive Spark Ignition Engines – Specification;
- DZS 869: Blending and Handling Of Biofuels – Code of Practice;
This notice serves to invite interested and affected parties to submit comments on the above Draft Zambian Standards. Copies of the draft standards can be downloaded from the ERB website at DZS – Production of Biofuels and Blending with Fossil Fuels.
Comments on the draft standards should be submitted using the COMMENTS FORM to the Director General, ERB or the Director ZABS no later than Monday, 14th August, 2023.
