The Electricity Section of the department of Economic Regulation has as its major functions;

• Regulation of electricity tariffs

• Assessing licensing fees for undertakings engaged in the generation, transmission and distribution of electricity

• Monitoring the efficiency of undertakings in the electricity industry

• Promoting competition and investment in the sector
